About the Audio Tour
Created by the Concession Street BIA in collaboration with Tottering Biped Theatre, this tour brings history to life through poetry, storytelling, and historical narratives. Written by renowned Hamilton poet Klyde Broox, the tour features performances by Sébastien Heins and Sam Mercury, with audio editing by Zach Parsons.
The tour invites listeners to explore the history of early Black settlements, considering the importance of whose stories are told and remembered. It starts at the Concession Street branch of the Hamilton Public Library at the corner of Concession and Cliff Avenue, guiding participants through four points of interest along Concession Street. The entire experience lasts approximately 25 minutes and is best enjoyed on location with a mobile device and headphones.
